I spent most of the past week at a work onsite in San Francisco, planning out the next 4 months of work with my software development team. As a result, writing for myself has taken a back seat, although I'm hoping to get back to it in the coming days. I have a few pieces that I'm noodling on, so stay tuned for what's next!

In the meantime, here are some odds and ends to share out as we near the end of the month...

I pulled out the list of books from my The Year I Stopped Reading Alone piece, and started a running list of my 2025 In Books. My plan is to keep this standalone list up-to-date in a way that I wouldn't do with the list that was part of the published piece. For instance, since I published my The Year I Stopped Reading Alone piece, I started and finished reading To Have and Have Not, by Ernest Hemingway for the Tough Guy Book Club's upcoming August 6th meeting.

I've been (slowly) re-publishing the old posts from my Wordpress site as The Archives. 63 posts done, 58 to go. Each post from The Archives is only available to members who sign up, so you will need to subscribe to the site in order to access them.

Finally, the best way to follow the new pieces that I publish on the site is to subscribe. When I publish a new piece, it goes out via email to everyone who signs up. Subscribing as a member of the site is free, and you don't have to worry about me flooding you with ads or requests for your money.

Ghost does a pretty good job of ensuring deliverability of emails to most users, but there are still some emails that get trapped by spam folders. You can add my site's address (jnassi@ghost.io) as a safe sender to your email's address book.

And, if you're using Gmail and its tabbed inbox feature, be sure to check if my site's emails are going in to the Promotions folder instead of the main Inbox.
